Singapore LTA (The Land Transport Authority) MRT, North South Line extension C156 Project – Samsung C&T Corporation. 1KM twin rail tunnels including Marina Bay underground station (300M long) located 40m from shoreline and 35M deep. Ground water leaked into the entire underground structure which was constructed in reclaimed land – floor, walls and roof. Sovereign sealed all D - walls, floor and roof construction joints and cracks with Sovereign's NOH2O grout, prior to handing project over to LTA.

Sovereign sealed all leaking bored piles, D – Wall construction joints, cracks and overhead build-in fire tanks, ventilation shafts and emergency access ways – floor, side walls and roof. All water sealing and grouting work were completed in 3 months using Sovereign's NOH2O grout.

LTA C485 / LTA C486 Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE)

Singapore LTA (The Land Transport Authority) C485 Project - Penta-Ocean Construction CO. LTD Japanese Group. The marina development also included the dual 5 lane underground road expressway which encompasses a 420M section that crosses under the Marina Bay seabed. Sovereign sealed all bored piles, construction joints, cracks and other subsea penetrations that caused flooding during construction. Water sealing work using Sovereign's NOH2O® grout took only 4 months to complete.

Singapore LTA (The Land Transport Authority) MRT Bugis station C903 Project - Soletanche Bachy - Koh Brothers JV. Sovereign sealed 128 penetrations in area 5 tunnel: - slurry walls construction joints and cracks as well as floor and roof penetrations. Grouting/watersealing work was completed in 8 shifts.

SP Power Assets NS 2 Transmission Cable Tunnel (Singapore Power)


    

SK Engineering & Construction. Excavation and construction of Ang Mo Kio Shaft for the North South Transmission Cable Tunnel. 2013/14

Singapore Power Company, SP transmission cable tunnel – SK Engineering & Construction NS 2 Project / Ang Mo Kio Shaft (AMK). Sovereign pre-grouted toe of slurry wall and open formation interphase - to shaft floor level, prior to excavation - sealed 30L/min inflow. Grouting work took 28 shifts and during excavation the groundwater inflow was minimal. Shaft sinking activities continued without delays or disruption to the client and owner.

Dunearn Pre-Grout

Dunearn shaft were pre-grouted from the surface prior to excavation in order to reduce the permeability of the area between toe and bedrock. 22 surface bores were hammered to 70M and the area between 48 and 70M were grouted – intersection between slurry wall toe and bedrock. On completion permeability tests were done and it was determined that the grouting was done successfully. During excavation minimal inflows were observed and shaft excavation and TBM launce site preparation was undertaken without delays. This pre-grout design lead to the use in other shafts in the area – SK&EC's Tagor Shaft and Penta Ocean's Jurong shaft to mention a few...


Holland remedial grouting

  

Holland shaft were grouted from the interior of the shaft – some from drilling behind D-wall and some from drilling behind shotcrete wall. For the D-wall section backwall grouting was undertaken and behind shotcrete section, formation grouting was undertaken by drilling much deeper seeling the groundwater without the possibility of Hydro fracturing the shotcrete. All remedial work was undertaken using Sovereign NOH2O grout.

PUB Woodlands T2119A Sewer Diversion Works

The weak formation between two adjacent shafts 3 meters apart, washed out and resulted in flooding of the shaft under development. Dewatering had to stop due to subsidence of the surface as buildings started to crack – both shafts then flooded as a result. Sovereign were given the order to remedy the situation. An in-shaft Hydrolance injection system, never witnessed in Singapore before, was introduced while a permeation grouting method on the 3 meter formation fillet between both shafts from surface were grouted concurrently. Within 3 shifts a 100% seal was created and the shaft was pumped dry and excavation resumed. NOH2O and cement slurry was used to seal the flow between the two shafts – NOH2O to reduce the permeability and Ordinary Portland Cement to add strength.

WMATA Red Line Pilot Program- A10-A11: Leak Mitigation Project

Description: Curtain grout approximately 14,000 LF of the A Line Tunnel Track 1 and Track 2 (419+00 to 439+00 and 452+15 to 502+50). This project included the leak mitigation of Medical Center Crossover which experienced extensive water infiltration. The work started July 2017 and was completed in 3 phases by January 2018. Approximately 70% of the work was self-performed by Sovereign.

Description: Curtain grout critical public/non-public area of underground stations and tunnels throughout NYCT system. Crack/negative side injection for interior structural components. Sovereign would dictate the design to treat water intrusion on a case-by-case basis varying from underground stations, tunnels, ventilators, shafts, plenums etc. The project started in December 2018 and was extended till September 2021. All work except for onsite Safety Management was self-performed (96%) by Sovereign.

Description: Under the executive order #221, Curtain grout to replace the severely deteriorating waterproofing at some of the most critical Tunnels and stations – (57th and 7th Ave Station, Hudson Yard Station, Prospect Park Tunnel). Over 10,000 Tunnel LF and 220,000 SF at several critical stations were remediated for water infiltration. The project started in July 2018 and is continuing on a task order basis for new locations. All work is being self-performed by Sovereign and includes a 10-year warranty to the Owner.

Leak mitigation grouting on as-needed basis for newly constructed OLRT tunnels and stations between Rideau Station and Lyon Station. Sovereign remediated approximately 360,000 SF for three stations and 3,000 Tunnel LF. The project started in June 2018 and was completed by October 2019. All curtain grouting work was self-performed by Sovereign.

As part of enhancing 24 critical NYCT Stations with service life of close to 100 years, Sovereign was tasked as the specialist for designing and remediating water infiltration by curtain grouting and repairing the severely deteriorated waterproofing system in these critical stations. Approximately 220,000 SF of the station public and non-public areas were treated by Sovereign. Minor quantity of negative/crack injection on the interior structural components were performed as well. The project started in March 2017 and was completed by August 2019. All water remediation work was self-performed by Sovereign.
